During the Grand Départ of the Tour de France in Düsseldorf in July 2017, the safe crossings of EventBridge were used in Germany on a large scale for the first time. Following an extensive assessment procedure that took more than a year and a half to complete, the full EventBridge concept was approved by TÜV Germany. The successful start of the Tour proved that mobile footbridges offer significant added value compared with conventional solutions. One of the main advantages for the city of Düsseldorf was the fact that the three bridges were installed in a single night without causing any noteworthy traffic delays and were dismantled immediately after the time trial.
